Caramel Apple Pretzel Bites
Sweet, salty, crunchy & perfect for fall.
Caramel apples are a fall favorite, but these bite-sized treats give you all those flavors without the mess! Crisp apples, gooey caramel and salty pretzels come together for an easy treat that takes just minutes to make.
They’re perfect for an after-school snack, Halloween party, fall get-together or cozy night at home. Even better, this recipe makes just 12 bites, so it’s easy to double or triple for a crowd.
PREP: 3 minutes | COOK: 5–6 minutes | SERVES: 12
INGREDIENTS
- 12 caramels
- 12 pretzels
- 2 Honeycrisp or Gala apples
- Sprite or lemon juice, to help prevent the apples from browning
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 250°F.
2. Arrange pretzels in a single layer on a cookie sheet and place one caramel on top of each. Bake for 5–6 minutes, just until the caramels begin to soften.
3. While they're baking, cut the apples into bite-sized pieces small enough to fit on top of each pretzel. Soak the pieces briefly in Sprite or lemon juice to help prevent browning.
4. Dry the apples completely before adding them to the softened caramel — otherwise they won't stick.
5. Carefully press one apple piece onto each caramel. Allow the bites to cool, then enjoy!
MARCI’S TIP 🍎
Make them your own! After they cool, try adding a chocolate drizzle or chopped pecans or almonds for a little extra crunch.
