Company Information
John Ritter and his business partner, Jeff Daniher, founded Ritter Daniher Financial Advisory in July of 1999. If you remember what was happening in the markets at that point in time, this was in the months leading up to the “Tech Bubble Crash” and a downturn in the markets that lasted multiple years. “Trial by fire is an understatement” says John, and it tested their resolve to build a Fee-Only wealth management firm one client at a time. Perseverance clearly paid off, as they now manage just over $1 billion dollars for their clients and have office locations in Cincinnati and Cleveland, and another one in Lexington coming in July.
“Our goal from the beginning was to try and eliminate the conflicts of interest inherent in this profession.” Instead of charging commissions for product sales, John stresses that they wanted to show a fully disclosed fee that covered both the investment management and financial planning services they were providing. “We wanted to sit on the same side of the table as the client and never have them wondering if our advice was in THEIR best interest or ours. Serving as a fiduciary, where we legally must put the client’s interest ahead of our own, has always been paramount in how we run our firm.”

Ritter Daniher has been an establishment in Anderson Township for nearly 27 years in three different office locations. They did have a brief time when they were located in Columbia Tusculum, but when an opportunity arose to come back to Anderson they jumped at it. They’ve just completed a renovation of their office that sits behind First Watch on Beechmont, and plan to be in that location for a long time. They now have six Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) professionals in their office, and two more who are completing the program soon. Jeff Daniher, who serves on the CFP Board Practice Standards Commission says “The CFP® mark should be the gold standard that the public looks for. When one is seeking out an advisory relationship, look for someone who has the CFP® mark, practices in a Fee-Only manner and is always held to a fiduciary standard. This will help to screen out a lot of the potential bad actors that can occupy our profession.”
The mission of Ritter Daniher Financial Advisory is to educate, motivate and support clients in the pursuit of their financial goals and life dreams. This will be accomplished through personalized, fiduciary-based wealth management services that provide their clients with financial peace of mind. “There is nothing more satisfying than coaching a client through articulating their goals and then seeing them reach them.” says John Ritter. “We’ve seen clients with young children plan for them going to college and then receive photos from the graduation. We’ve helped clients with pre-planning for a retirement a decade in the future, and then celebrated with them as they reached that milestone and started a new phase of life. And we’ve helped clients ensure that their affairs are in order as they age, then be able to assist the grieving spouse after a partner passes. This place of special trust with our clients is very important to us, and something that we continuously strive to uphold.”
