The Beat Magazine for Hard-to-Beat Moms

Get to know Brittney Kelley-Harrison, the founder of The Beat Mom

Brittney Kelley-Harrison graduated from the University of Cincinnati with double degrees in information systems and entrepreneurship. She has always been involved in both areas of work, but passion found her when she started The Beat Mom magazine.

“The Beat Mom is a magazine that gears towards the fashionable mommy moguls of the world,” she shares. “Our vision is to empower moms everywhere to be their own kind of beautiful! We are the new-age moms! The powerful, outspoken boss women of society.”

The Beat Mom started through Brittney’s chaotic life as a mom, a wife and an entrepreneur. Brittney is no “ordinary mom,” as she supports her husband’s career, goes to all her kids’ events, and is still a full-time entrepreneur while living for herself! The Beat Mom highlights the uniqueness of motherhood and nurtures the vibrant souls of mothers.

For her, The Beat Mom is a way for independent, business-driven, working, and “girl boss” moms to put themselves out there and for other moms to see that everything is possible! The magazine features fashion, beauty, entrepreneurship and excellence alongside motherhood.

“For me, I believe it is OK to go to brunch and enjoy a night out with the girls, live for Paris fashion week, and still be a present and fulfilled mom. This is why it is so important to me to inspire a lifestyle of ‘girl boss’ excellence for women of all cultures. The Beat Mom magazine aims to empower through style, ambition, and self-love.”

For those wanting to start their own business, Brittney says, “Live out your dreams and do what makes you happy. The only way to fail is if you never start!”

Brittney and her husband, Josh, have lived in the neighborhood for seven years with their two daughters, Mia and Kinsli. Josh played major league baseball for 13 years. The family loves to travel and explore.
