Jen and Abe Beaber and their 4 kids have lived in Cambridge for over 7 years. You will often see Jen on Saturday mornings during the spring to fall months at Piazza Geist Market, a mobile outdoor market that was started during covid. The initial goal was to provide the Geist Community with safe access to fresh produce, meat and goods during that difficult time. Each week residents would arrive, pop their trunks and receive their fresh items with a no-contact curbside pickup. As covid days diminished, Piazza Geist Market became less of a necessary means for food and more of a unique place to find fresh produce, high-quality proteins and tons of local items produced and sourced in Indiana.

Nearly 90% of the unique items found at Geist Market are locally sourced from over 60 different farmers, artists and artisans in Indiana and the Midwest.  You will find local meat from Fischer Farms, Miller’s Amish, Smoking Goose, Dewigs, Swayzee Tenderloin, Fisher Meats, Purely Meat Co and more. Piazza Geist Market also partners with tons of local farmers to source the freshest produce in season. We provide unique items that can’t be found in a grocery store, like local horseradish pickles, summer sausage and fresh mango salsa as well as jams, jellies and sauces all produced right here in Indiana! And of course we can’t forget all the sweet treats, cookies, soft pretzels and local breads.  All season long we offer an array of flowers, hanging baskets, gorgeous local bouquets and fall mums.

We are so excited for the upcoming 2023 season! We have quite a few new items and will kick off our season by sampling our hand-cut tenderloin filets.   We want our customers to experience and taste our product. Each week we will have a guest vendor partner cooking on-site and sampling. This is one of my absolute favorite unique things that we do!  It is so much fun to have our local partners on-site cooking, sampling and educating us on their products. We will have beautiful hanging baskets for Mother’s Day and are currently working on a Father’s Day box full of fun local items like bacon jam, bourbon barrel mustard and a hand-cut premium steak. Look for our Memorial Day and Fourth of July “Grill Box Specials” as well as our weekly specials and new items.  We have sourced additional local gifts and household items like jewelry, candles, blankets, aprons, and more!

There are so many things I cherish about my job!  I love seeing the excitement and joy that our market and our products bring to people and their families. I strive to support local artisans and businesses and enjoy sharing the delicious products they have created and grown.  It is so much fun working with my family, especially my Dad and nephew who are there every week. But most of all, I find so much joy in meeting all of the amazing people in our community who share my passion for fresh, locally sourced food. It truly is such a blessing to be surrounded by the kindest, friendliest and most genuine people that make up our community.
