A Stroll Around Bridlewood with Wrigley: An Interview

Mrs. McBridlewood: Wrigley! What a pleasure to meet you.

Wrigley: Woof woof!

Mrs. McBridlewood: Would you mind telling me how it is you got your name? Are you very squirmy or wiggly!?

Wrigley: Mrs. B, no no I iz named for the great stadium of the Cubs! My hoomans are both from Chicago…Pretty sure that's where I get my accent from.

Mrs. McBridlewood: Oh well that’s very exciting! Do you enjoy baseball?

Wrigley: Mrs. B, I iz a pup, of course we love anything that involves a ball!

Mrs. McBridlewood: Of course, you’re right! Now what type of breed are you Mr. Wrigley? You have such a lovely, fluffy coat!

Wrigley: I iz a F1 Goldendoodle as they call me…That is posed to mean that I am FIRST generation. My pup mom was an apricot poodle and my pup pops was a English Cream Golden Retriever. That’s how you get me!

Mrs. McBridlewood: Well that is a fun fact! Now do you have any brothers or sisters?

Wrigley: No, ma’am…I was born a singleton. That means Iz the only one in my litter! I got fed by a sheepadoodle who had just had some pups a couple of weeks before Iz born! As you can see from my puppy photos-I sure did not look like the other pups. But thas okay, we was still frens.

Mrs. McBridlewood: That’s a nice memory, Wrigley! I heard a rumor that you’re something of a sommelier. What do you have to say about that?

Wrigley: Oh, yes…I do love it when my hoomans open up one of those bottles that smells like fruit juice! I demand to smell the cork every time just to make sure it’s okay for them. I give a “ruff!” if it passes my sniff test.

Mrs. McBridlewood: Well isn’t that quite the talent? What else do you like to do?

Wrigley: I loves to play catch, of course!

Mrs. McBridlewood: Oh Wrigley! Now my next question is, how did you come to join your family?

Wrigley: Well my hoomans previous canine fren went to doggy heaven right around March 2020. Well that was right when the whole world had to go inside because of the COVID and so everyone was so cooped up and my hoomans got lonely without a pup around. teTy asked their breeder frens and turned out little pup Wrigley was just about to be born! And now here I iz!

Mrs. McBridlewood: Well isn't that so lucky! Now...I heard that you were a little naughty…can you tell me about that?

Wrigley: I’m pretty sure I iz always a good boy.

Mrs. McBridlewood: Stuffed mushrooms…

Wrigley: *Looks down*....Okay, okay. I guess ONE TIME, I was a bad boy and got caught eating these mushrooms my hoomans made that smelled like the bestest thing I’d ever smelled. So I couldn’t help myself. I ate the whole thing! I also snuck some charcuterie too while I was at it…I thought mom would think that her guests had eatin’ it and well that worked for a minute, but they caught on eventually…

Mrs. McBridlewood: Haha! Oh well, good try anyway, Wrigley. Okay, last question…does your family spoil you?

Wrigley: Well, we do have some rules, like no jumping on the couch or beds. PFT! But…I do have a heck of a big ole’ basket of toys…TWO in fact! Plus mom feeds me fresh food on top of my kibble. I get the bestest fish & sweet potato dinner every once in a while! I can’tz complain about that!!

Mrs. McBridlewood: That’s a pretty good deal! Thanks for strolling with us today, Wrigley!

Wrigley: Woof, anytime!
