Patriotic Quilt Raffle Benefits Habitat for Humanity's Critical Repairs Program
The Davie Women's Auxiliary has announced the successful conclusion of its Patriotic Quilt Raffle, raising funds to support the Critical Repairs Program of Habitat for Humanity of Davie County. The beautiful red, white, and blue patriotic quilt was generously handcrafted and donated by the talented members of The Quilting Queens. For several months, the quilt was displayed at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Bermuda Quay Shopping Center, where shoppers had the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for $5 each or five for $20. The drawing was held during the Fourth of July Celebration at Davie County Community Park. The winning ticket was drawn by Davie Women's Auxiliary volunteer Arla Cahill, and the lucky winner was Dennis Livengood of Advance. "On behalf of Habitat for Humanity of Davie County, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to The Quilting Queens for donating this beautiful quilt, to the Habitat ReStore for proudly displaying it, to the Davie Women's Auxiliary for organizing this fundraiser, and to everyone who purchased raffle tickets," said Jessie Folger, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Davie County. "The generosity of our community continues to make a lasting difference for local families." Proceeds from the raffle will directly support Habitat's Critical Repairs Program, which helps seniors, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and hardworking families remain safely in the homes they love. The program provides essential repairs such as wheelchair ramps, roof repairs, floor replacement, accessibility modifications, plumbing and electrical repairs, and other improvements that make homes safer, healthier, and more accessible. The success of the quilt raffle is another example of what can be accomplished when community organizations, volunteers, and local residents come together for a common purpose. Every ticket purchased will help ensure that more Davie County families can continue living safely and independently in their own homes. The Davie Women's Auxiliary congratulates Dennis Livengood on winning the beautiful patriotic quilt and thanks everyone who supported this fundraiser and helped make it such a meaningful success.
