Publisher's Note

September is here, and somehow we’re already easing out of summer and into the school year, football season, and maybe even a little fall weather (eventually). While I’m still clinging to my flip-flops, I’ll admit this is one of my favorite times of year in North Carolina.
In this issue, you’ll get to know our cover story family, Bill and Pat Campbell, and our featured family, Leon and Nancy Robertson. Both bring so much heart and personality to this community, and I loved getting a peek into their lives. If you see them around town, be sure to say hello. They’re as kind in person as they are in print.
I also want to give a round of applause to the Bermuda Run Garden Club for their work on the new pollinator gardens along the Heron Trail. They’re beautiful, peaceful, and such a gift to anyone who walks by. Thanks to Trish Strickland for writing in and sharing the moment with us. It’s exactly the kind of neighbor-to-neighbor joy that I love putting in this magazine.
We’re especially excited to invite you to the first annual Fall Festival and Dog Stroll on Saturday, October 4, from 1 to 5 PM, cohosted with the Humane Society of Davie County and the Town of Bermuda Run. This is a family-friendly fundraiser to support the HSDC, and it’s going to be a blast. We’ll have food trucks, live music, a dog costume contest, a kids dress-up contest, candy for the little ones, and plenty of fun for all ages. Mark your calendar and bring your whole crew, four-legged friends included.
If you or someone you know would be a great fit for a future issue, I’d love to hear from you. We're currently looking for families to feature in our upcoming “Meet Your Neighbor” stories, and we’re especially hoping to highlight local veterans in our November issue. We’re also gathering stories of community volunteers and reflections of gratitude as we head into the fall and holiday season. This magazine is built on your stories, and I’d be honored to help share them.
Lastly, a sincere thank you to all of our vendors and Preferred Sponsors who support this publication each month. Their partnership makes Stroll Bermuda Run possible, and I hope you’ll turn through these pages and get to know them. And a special thank you to Dan Allsup, our wonderful ad manager, who helps bring their message to life with beautifully designed ads that truly reflect each business. When you see a name that catches your eye, give them a call. They’d love to hear from you, and they’re here to serve this community well.
With gratitude,
Stephanie Wilson Hearn
