Happy Easter!

I don’t know about you, but I am so thankful to turn the calendar to April.
This winter felt long (and I love winter!). The cold, the ice, the gray skies. And then all of a sudden, you notice it. A few buds on the trees. Flowers starting to peek through. Warmer afternoons. It is such a good reminder that seasons change.
Easter falls in April this year, and that always feels special to me. As a little girl, I loved Easter egg hunts at church and my great aunt's house. We did not have candy stuffed inside the eggs. Just finding the egg was the prize. I still smile thinking about those days. It reminds me that sometimes the simplest things carry the greatest joy.
As I read through this month’s stories, I realized how much they reflect this season of renewal.
You will read about Denny “Zoomie” Boyce and his Appalachian Trail journey. What stayed with me is not just the miles he walked, but the faith and determination he carried with him. Sometimes finishing is not the only measure of success. Sometimes courage and perseverance are.
We are also featuring several pastors and faith leaders in this issue. Men and women who have spent their lives serving others and who continue to do so even in retirement. Their steady faith and encouragement feel especially meaningful during this Easter season as we reflect on hope and new life.
And then there is the story about providing books for children who might not own one. The sentence, “I never owned a book before,” stopped me in my tracks. What a gift it is to be part of a community that steps in and says, not anymore.
From garden clubs reopening their pollinator gardens, to book clubs gathering for thoughtful discussion, to neighbors celebrating ten years of friendship, this issue reminds me why I love what I do. There is so much goodness right here in Bermuda Run.
I am also deeply grateful for our wonderful partners who make Stroll possible. Thank you to Bo and Son’s Landscaping and Lawncare, Brookridge Retirement Living, Med + Luxury Auto Spa, and the Town of Bermuda Run. Please support the businesses that support our community.
As we move into April, my prayer is simple. May we notice the beauty around us. May we hold onto hope. And may we look for small ways to serve and encourage one another.
Happy Easter.
Blessings,
Stephanie
