Gratitude in Full Bloom
November always brings with it a special rhythm of reflection, thankfulness, and community. As I look back over this past year, I am filled with gratitude for all that our neighborhood has accomplished and for the people who continue to make Bermuda Run such a remarkable place to live, work, and connect.
Our cover story this month, Meet Your Neighbor: Theodore “Ted” Molitoris – Walking the World, One Step at a Time, reminds us that perseverance and curiosity can turn something simple, like a daily walk, into a global journey. Ted’s story is one of quiet determination, endless adventure, and finding peace and purpose with every step. His travels and outlook perfectly reflect what this season represents: gratitude, movement, and meaning.
Speaking of meaning, we have found plenty of it this year. From our First Annual Fall Festival and Dog Stroll in the Square, where hundreds of families, pets, and neighbors came out to celebrate and support the Humane Society of Davie County, to the many ways our residents have shown kindness and community spirit, every event has reinforced what makes this town shine.
Inside this issue, you will meet Milo Bear, a lovable Kinderton pup who knows how to make every walk count; explore Kim and Jim Goss’s enchanting “Happy Hollow” Fairy Garden, a hidden gem of Rosewalk Lane; and enjoy Peggy Isenhour’s Sweet Potato Pie recipe, a Southern classic and the perfect way to warm your kitchen and your heart this Thanksgiving.
We are also excited to welcome our new junior writer, Jenna Harding, whose creativity and enthusiasm are already bringing a fresh voice to our pages. And please join me in extending a warm welcome to our newest Stroll Bermuda Run partners: Fellowship Property Services, Big Anchor Roofing and Gutters, W. Simmons Construction, Arski Towing and Recovery, and CGO Septic Services. Your support and trust help us share the stories and connections that make this community so special.
As we celebrate the season of gratitude, I want to wish each of you a wonderful Thanksgiving surrounded by family, friends, and the comforts of home. And to our veterans and those currently serving, thank you for your courage, sacrifice, and dedication. We are deeply grateful for all you do.
With heartfelt thanks,
Stephanie Wilson Hearn
