Meet Juliana De Giacometti Vitti
Brazil to Bermuda Run—With Heart and Vision
I’m Juliana De Giacometti Vitti, and this summer marks two years since my family and I moved to Bermuda Run. Originally from Brazil, I grew up in a charming mountain town with strong Italian and German influences—beautiful landscapes, incredible food, and a close-knit community. Life has taken me from Tokyo to São Paulo, Miami, Milwaukee, and most recently, Franklin, TN, before landing here.
I met my husband, Julio, during a corporate event in my hometown. He was there for a car launch for General Motors, and I was working at the event. Our paths crossed amidst the excitement, and we’ve been together ever since. Julio’s career in the automotive industry has moved us across the world. When he was hired by Thomas Built Buses in High Point, I started house hunting. I searched in High Point and Greensboro, but nothing felt right. Then, I saw a listing on Zillow. The next day, there was an open house. Julio quickly bought tickets, and we flew in. The moment I walked in, I knew—it was home. We made an offer that same day. When you know, you know!
Now, we live at 191 Riverbend Dr, along with our 17-year-old daughter, Vivian; our two adopted black cats, Biscotti and Panettone; and my beloved 10-year-old fiddle leaf fig tree, Figgy Buffay. Yes, I’m a cat lady and a plant mom, and I embrace it.
Julio and I have been married for 25 years, and our daughter, Vivian, is our greatest pride. Throughout our numerous relocations, I deeply admire Vivian’s resilience and adaptability. She has an incredible ability to move between different interests and communities with ease—one day she’s deep in a book, the next she’s hiking, debating, or trying something completely new. She’s an Eagle Scout, passionate about the outdoors, and always up for a challenge. I admire her independence, sharp wit, and the way she fully embraces whatever she sets her mind to.
While I cherish quiet moments and introspection, finding energy in solitude, Julio and Vivian are natural extroverts, thriving in social settings and drawing energy from those around them. This dynamic has brought a beautiful balance to our family, with each of us learning and growing from our differing perspectives.
Bermuda Run wasn’t planned, but it turned out to be exactly what I needed—calm, beautiful, and surrounded by nature, with the river winding through it. The best part? The people. There’s a real sense of community here—warm, welcoming, and always looking out for one another. One of my favorite things about living here is how close we are to an amazing park and so many fantastic local businesses. I love supporting small businesses—whether it’s discovering a hidden-gem boutique, sourcing unique decor from local artisans, or recommending talented creatives. They’re what give a community its character, and I’m always excited to find and share the best local spots.
You might also find me on the pickleball courts. I started playing when we moved here in a clinic offered by the Club, and I love the game—not for competition, but for the fun, movement, and friendships it’s brought into my life. Additionally, I love spending time watching birds and admiring trees, finding peace and inspiration in nature’s beauty.
As an interior designer, I’ve had the privilege of working on incredible projects around the world. From first-time homeowners’ apartments to luxury residences, modern corporate spaces, stylish boutiques, and even man caves, each project has given me a new perspective. I’m passionate about blending tradition with modernity—whether it’s incorporating local craftsmanship or creating spaces that are both functional and personal. Since moving so many times, most of my clients have been remote, often returning to me because of the work I’ve done in the past or through word of mouth. I pride myself on being able to transform spaces within a budget, without compromising on style or quality. It’s all about finding creative solutions that make a space feel uniquely yours.
Beyond design, I’ve also been a landscape photographer, with a few exhibitions. My photography has always been about capturing the beauty we sometimes take for granted—a sunrise, the perfect symmetry in architecture, or a fleeting moment of stillness. When I’m not working, you’ll find me in my kitchen, cooking for my family, taking on yet another DIY project (driving my household crazy), or caring for my ever-growing collection of plants. And while it’s not a trendy thing to admit these days, I love watching movies and series—it’s one of the best ways to unwind.
As a family, we love traveling and discovering new places. It’s one of our favorite things to do together. We also enjoy simple pleasures, like grilling Brazilian-style barbecue at home. Whether we’re exploring a new city or enjoying a meal at home, it’s the shared experiences that make those moments truly special. My perfect day involves walking 25,000 steps through any medieval city in Europe, immersing myself in its history and charm. Inevitably, the day concludes with indulging in a generous plate of pasta, savoring the flavors of the local cuisine.
Moving to Bermuda Run was a leap of faith, but it’s become home. It’s peaceful, surrounded by nature, yet close to bigger cities when I need a change of pace. I’ve met some truly wonderful people, and I love that it still has that small-town charm where neighbors look out for one another. I stay busy with my interior design work and enjoy discovering new spots around the area—whether it’s a hidden gem of a restaurant or a scenic location that sparks inspiration for my projects. It’s always exciting to explore the local scene and find fresh ideas!
Becoming a U.S. citizen was a huge milestone for me. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities this country has given me—especially the chance to turn my passions into a career. Life has taken me from huge metropolitan cities to small, quiet towns, and each move has shaped who I am.
While I’ll always carry my Brazilian roots with me, Bermuda Run has become home. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from moving so much, it’s that home isn’t just about the place—it’s about the people and the experiences you create. I’m excited for the people I’ll continue to meet, the projects I’ll take on, and the creative challenges ahead. And, of course, I’m always up for a fun pickleball match.
