Bermuda Run Garden Club: Growing Community Through Service

The Bermuda Run Garden Club continues to make a meaningful impact across our community through a blend of service, creativity, and long-standing traditions.
At the heart of their efforts is a 20-year commitment to one of the area’s most impactful student support programs. For the past two decades, the Garden Club has designed and created the centerpieces for the Crosby Scholars Breakfast of Champions, helping celebrate local high school seniors and their achievements.
This year marked a special milestone, as the event celebrated its 20th anniversary at Bermuda Run. Led by chairwoman Janet DeLong, the centerpiece design featured a rich moss green base accented with fresh flowers, a flag, and a golf ball, thoughtfully reflecting both the spirit of the tournament and its lasting legacy.
The Crosby Scholars Golf Tournament serves as a vital fundraiser, providing financial support to students as they pursue higher education. Through the Breakfast of Champions, the community gathers not only to recognize these students’ accomplishments, but to invest in their future. The Garden Club’s continued involvement helps create a meaningful and memorable experience for all who attend.
In addition to supporting educational initiatives, the Garden Club also hosts two major annual fundraisers that directly benefit the community.
On April 14, the club’s annual geranium sale was once again a blooming success, with 877 plants sold. This beloved tradition brings color and beauty to homes across Bermuda Run, while proceeds support educational efforts, community projects, and local programs.
Just days later, on April 18, residents gathered at Kinderton Town Hall for the semiannual shredding event, now in its 12th year. This popular service helps community members safely dispose of sensitive documents and protect against identity theft. Under the leadership of chairwoman Marie Labaroski, members and their spouses worked together to ensure a smooth and successful event. The next shredding event is scheduled for September 19 at Town Hall.
Through each of these efforts, the Bermuda Run Garden Club demonstrates the power of community involvement. Whether supporting students, funding local programs, or providing valuable services, their dedication continues to make a lasting difference in Bermuda Run.
