Congratulations to Shelly Zoe Rodriguez-Bermudez on earning her Master of Science in Public Health Nutrition from Appalachian State University! A proud Veteran, Shelly is already making a meaningful impact as a Nutritionist at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Asheville, caring for others who have served.
Shelly plans to continue her journey by becoming a Registered Dietitian, combining her passion for health and service to help others live well. In her free time, she enjoys preparing healthy meals and smoothies, staying active with fitness, and spending time with her beloved Goldendoodle, Bruno.

Miley Grace Brandon is a 2026 graduate of Davie County High School and will begin her next chapter at Davidson-Davie Community College, with plans to transfer to UNC Wilmington.
The daughter of Kristi Douthit and Mikey and Stacey Brandon, Miley has grown up in Kinderton Village, where a strong sense of community has helped shape her character and values.
She moves forward with a solid foundation of faith and family support. A verse that reflects her journey is Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you…plans to give you hope and a future.”

Bailey Brewer is celebrating an exciting milestone as she graduates from Catawba College with a degree in Psychology. Throughout her time there, she demonstrated both academic dedication and strong leadership.
Bailey served as President of the Psychology Club, fostering connection and engagement among students who share her passion for helping others. She was also inducted into the Alpha-Alpha-Alpha (Tri-Alpha) Honor Society, recognizing her academic excellence and perseverance.
With a heart for service, Bailey plans to gain hands-on experience in social work before pursuing her master’s degree. Her passion, drive, and determination will no doubt lead to a meaningful career.

JOSH DOUTHIT

Josh Douthit is graduating from Davie County High School and is already taking meaningful steps toward his future. This summer, he will obtain his EMT certification as he pursues his goal of becoming a firefighter.
The son of Jamie Douthit, Josh has been actively involved in Boy Scouts, where he mentored younger Scouts and developed strong leadership skills. He also participated in the Davie Hunters Education Skills Team, the Hot Shots 4-H Shooting Club, and served as a volunteer firefighter with Ellis Cross Country Fire and Rescue Station 48.
Josh’s accomplishments include earning the rank of Eagle Scout and obtaining his firefighter certification, reflecting his discipline and commitment to serving others.

Lily Elena Fowler is graduating from Westchester Country Day School and will attend High Point University this fall.
The daughter of Biby and Jeff Wilson, Lily has been actively involved in varsity and all-star cheerleading. She is also the founder of the Sisterhood Affinity Club, creating a space for connection, leadership, and support among her peers. In addition, she has been a member of the International Culture Association and Fellowship of Christian Athletes, reflecting her commitment to service, faith, and community involvement.
Lily’s passion for serving others led her to volunteer in Tanzania, supporting community projects focused on education and infrastructure. Her leadership, initiative, and positive impact were recognized with the Wildcat Award.

Gage Jackson is graduating from Davie County High School and will continue his education at Davidson-Davie Community College through the Ignite Davie Scholarship Program, with plans to transfer to North Carolina State University.
At Davie, Gage participated in FBLA, enjoyed creating art, and spent time with friends. Outside of school, he enjoys rock climbing, fishing, time at RISE Gym, and has taught himself to play the keyboard.
Gage demonstrated strong responsibility through his work at Sheetz, purchasing his own vehicle at a young age. This spring, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement in Scouting America.

Kelsey Nicholson is graduating from Davie County High School and is excited to begin her next chapter at Davidson-Davie Community College. She plans to earn her Nurse Assistant certification before continuing her education to become a Registered Nurse, with the ultimate goal of becoming a CRNA.
During high school, Kelsey was actively involved in Future Farmers of America and 4-H, where she developed leadership skills, a strong work ethic, and a deep appreciation for service and community. These experiences provided valuable hands-on learning opportunities and meaningful relationships that will continue to guide her.
Her accomplishments include earning her Greenhand FFA Degree and competing in dairy evaluation, horticulture, and meat identification. She also earned certifications in First Aid, CPR, and Stop the Bleed.

Grady Phillips is graduating from Davie County High School and will attend Wake Forest University, where he plans to study history or philosophy. He is eager to take the next step in his academic journey.
The son of Heather and Matthew Phillips, Grady has been deeply involved throughout high school, participating in Mock Trial, fencing, and the National Honor Society, while also serving as Senior Class President. His leadership made a lasting impact on his peers and the school community.
Grady’s accomplishments include earning the rank of Eagle Scout, receiving The SUMMA Prize, and being named a nine-time Best Witness in Mock Trial. He is also a recipient of the Egbert L. Davis and Parker McClendon Scholarships.

During his time at Davie, George was a dedicated member of the basketball team, where he developed discipline, teamwork, and resilience. His commitment to the sport helped shape a strong work ethic, especially through demanding training like sophomore year conditioning, which pushed him both physically and mentally.
George’s consistency, focus, and determination have been key to his growth both on and off the court. He also credits his mother, Carrie McGuire, for her steady support and encouragement throughout his journey.
