From Page to Screen: A Book Club Adventure

In January, the Kensington Village Book Club stepped outside its usual selections and read Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, marking the group’s first venture into science fiction. The choice sparked a variety of opinions and led to some lively discussion, with reviews that were, at times, mixed.
Despite the differing perspectives, there was one thing everyone could agree on - the excitement for the movie release in March.
When opening week arrived, more than half of the book club gathered to see the film together, turning it into a fun and memorable group outing. The shared experience did not disappoint. In fact, the response was overwhelmingly positive, with many giving the movie a perfect 10 out of 10 and some even saying it surpassed the book.
Beyond the ratings, what made the evening special was simply being together. It was a wonderful reminder that book club is not just about what you read, but the connections and experiences you share along the way.
As Rebecca Woodall shared, “I can definitely say that this is the best book-to-movie rendition that I have ever seen.”
