Meet Sabrina Caiella

Commitment leads to results!

At just 11 years old, Sabrina Caiella has already dedicated most of her life to the sport of soccer. With eight years of experience under her belt, Sabrina has become a force on the field, driven by a passion that began at a young age. Whether on or off the pitch, you'll typically see her wearing her favorite teams' jerseys and carrying a ball to friends' houses, her sister's games, breweries, you name it.

She currently plays for Lake Travis FC on their U12 Premier Team, a testament to her talent and hard work. Before joining Lake Travis FC, she spent four years with the Dripping Springs Stars Academy, where she developed her skills alongside great coaches and friends.

Sabrina's dedication is inspired by some of the best in the game. She looks up to Lamine Yamal of FC Barcelona and Spain’s National Team, as well as Sophia Smith of the Portland Thorns FC and the US Women’s National Team. For Sabrina, these players represent a commitment to excellence. "They are always looking to get better and that's what my goal is as a player," she shared. She even had the chance to meet Sophia Smith and former Austin FC player Gyasi Zardes, adding to her list of memorable experiences.

Her commitment has already led to impressive results. Sabrina has participated in numerous regional tournaments, including the STX State Cup, and has secured two first-place victories and one runner-up placement with her teams. The satisfaction of winning her first tournament in 3rd grade is a feeling she says she continues to work toward. This season has started strong, with her team winning the San Antonio Pre-Labor Day Cup, a direct reflection of their extensive summer work. Sabrina herself contributed significantly, scoring two goals and four assists.

For Sabrina, soccer is a sport that is much more difficult than it looks, a challenge she embraces. She believes the sport is all about teamwork, collaboration, and leadership. These are values she carries with her in academics, friendships, and other pursuits such as robotics and flag football. Beyond the wins and goals, soccer has taught her the value of hard work and dedication to your passion.

As she looks to the future, Sabrina may consider following in her father’s footsteps, a former Division 1 college soccer athlete, and continue playing through high school and college. When asked for a tip for aspiring players, she emphasized the importance of commitment. "I currently spend a lot of my free time outside of school playing soccer, practicing four nights a week and playing games on the weekends throughout the year," she said. Even on days when she feels tired, she pushes through, knowing that once she gets to the field, her stress fades away. It’s a powerful lesson in following through, where hard work is always rewarded with results.
