Otis in the Spotlight
You may recognize Otis from our January cover. We just couldn’t get enough of him—and clearly, he deserved a spotlight of his own.
In last month’s issue, you met the Hartline family—now, here are a few fun facts about Otis, straight from those who know him best.
Family member names: Rachael, Robert, Trace and Cayman
Pet's name: Otis
Breed: Mini Goldendoodle
Pet's Age: 8 years old
How and when did Otis join your family?
Our best friends had his sister from a previous litter and she was amazing so we went with the same breeder/parents. We had an elderly chocolate lab at the time and wanted to get a puppy for the kids.
Is there a story behind his name?
Nope no story...I just always loved the name Otis!
What's the one trait or behavior that makes him stand out from the rest?
Otis is very intuitive. He can read a room and provide comfort to who needs it most.
What is Otis's favorite toy or treats?
He has a "baby" small stuff dog that looks like him. I bought it before he arrived at home. It was his first toy and still his favorite. You can find him most days resting his head on it.
He is extremely picky and will ONLY eat the Nubz brand dog bones.
What is your favorite memory with Otis?
We lived in Costa Rica for 2 years. Our favorite memory by far is him running on the beach by our home there.
Where does Otis love to hang out in the neighborhood?
He LOVES to walk 12th South and will pull me in that direction when we are close by. He knows which stores he can go into and get love from the employees. He also loves Sevier Park!
Who are his favorite playmates in the neighborhood?
Our next door neighbor Maggie, a yellow lab.
If Otis could choose any adventure to go on, what would it be?
Otis really likes to hike in the woods and climb rocks.
