How long has your family lived in the neighborhood?
My husband and I got married in August, so Doug and I officially moved here around then!
What is Doug's adoption story?
I foster-failed Doug four years ago in September through Wags and Walks — and honestly, it’s one of the best “failures” of my life. I had just moved to Nashville earlier that year and thought I’d foster a pup for a couple of weeks to keep me company. But after only two days with Doug, his cuddly, quirky personality completely won me over, and I knew he wasn’t going anywhere!
He ended up at the shelter after digging his way out of a backyard (clearly, he’s an adventurer at heart). About six months later, I met my now-husband, James, and Doug has been part of our story ever since. Neither of us had dogs growing up, so we’ve been figuring it all out together — Doug included! He’s been our goofy, loyal little sidekick through every chapter so far.
How was his name chosen?
His previous owner didn’t even leave a name, so I figured he looked like a Doug — and it stuck.
Are there any local businesses or parks Doug particularly enjoys visiting?
Doug loves a local coffee shop- bonus points if they give him a treat! We love going for a walk and sitting at Fast Times or Hearts.
