Meet Wynne and Will, a couple in their 20s living life, figuring it out, and having fun as they go. Both 28, they are longtime Nashville residents who have lived on Cedar Lane since spring of 2023, building a life rooted in community, connection, and creativity.

Wynne is originally from Alexandria, Virginia and spent most of her life in the DMV area. She grew up in a family of seven — yes, seven — which means she’s very comfortable with chaos, sharing space, and keeping things light. She’s a twin, with older triplet siblings and two younger siblings, so growing up was busy, fun, and the kind of environment that naturally teaches you how to connect, adapt, and laugh through it all.

Lacrosse played a big role in Wynne’s upbringing, teaching her teamwork, perseverance, and how to show up for others, while also building her lifelong friendships. The sport ultimately took her to Georgetown University, where she majored in psychology and continued to grow both personally and academically. After college, she felt ready for a fresh chapter and moved to Nashville in 2021 for a little adventure, a new environment, and graduate school.

She attended Vanderbilt University’s Human Development Studies program, where she deepened her understanding of emotional development and well-being, and later earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University to pursue her true passion as a therapist. Today, Wynne works as an Associate Therapist at Nashville Therapy Group, serving young adults, teens, and children over the age of 10.

During her graduate studies, Wynne developed a unique interest in how everyday routines — especially getting dressed — can influence mood, self-perception, and overall well-being. For her capstone project, she combined Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with fashion, exploring how clothing could shift from a source of stress into a mindful, supportive practice. This work became the foundation for Mindfully Dressed, a Nashville-based clothing brand built on the idea that what you wear can support how you feel. Through thoughtfully designed, versatile pieces, Mindfully Dressed encourages presence, self-compassion, and ease in everyday life. Wynne now balances her work as a therapist with running the brand, allowing both paths to inform and strengthen one another.

Will is a Nashville native who grew up on Estes Road, giving him deep roots in the city he still proudly calls home. In contrast to Wynne’s bustling household, Will grew up as an only child — a difference that adds balance to their relationship. He attended Franklin Road Academy for all 12 years (a true lifer — go FRAmily!), where he built lasting friendships and a strong sense of community that continues to shape him today.

Will went on to attend Sewanee: The University of the South, where he majored in Psychology with a minor in Business. He was deeply involved in campus life, participating in the Order of the Gown, Sewanee Rotary Club, the Sewanee Outing Program leading outdoor adventure trips, and serving as a PRE leader for incoming freshmen. He looks back on his time on the mountain with fond memories and strong friendships. YSR! (Yeah Sewanee’s Right!)

Graduating during the height of the COVID pandemic shifted Will’s original post-graduate plans, when a hiring company was unable to bring on new employees. Rather than viewing it as a setback, he leaned into the opportunity to pivot and joined The Parke Company as a Team Lead, drawing on both his forestry coursework from Sewanee and his natural people skills. He later joined Steamboat Transportation Group as an Account Executive, where he flourished in sales, supporting clients across the U.S. and into Canada. His determination and strong work ethic led to promotions into Senior Account Executive and eventually Sales Manager, where he led a team of Account Executives.

Today, Will serves as Director of Client Relationships at Abacus Corporation, a staffing company founded in Baltimore, Maryland. In his role, he focuses on building strong partnerships and supporting long-term client success, bringing a people-first mindset and hometown pride into everything he does.

Wynne and Will met the summer Wynne moved to Nashville — thanks to Hinge and a little nudge from fate (and some persistent friends). Wynne joined the app to get a feel for the city, and Will’s friends finally convinced him to create a profile. Neither expected anything serious until their first meet-up, which unfolded over country music, laughs with friends, and a little dancing. That night quickly turned into a story they can’t stop telling. While meeting on a dating app initially felt a bit awkward, they now embrace it as part of modern love — a reminder that meaningful connections often appear in unexpected ways.

Though Will once imagined leaving Nashville for new adventures, the pandemic, college friends moving to the area, and meeting Wynne shifted those plans. What began as a temporary move for Wynne soon became home, drawn in by the warmth, creativity, and sense of community Nashville offers. Five years later, they built roots together and purchased their home on Cedar Lane in 2023.

Wynne and Will share their home with a 14-year-old Irish Setter, Millie, who Wynne lovingly describes as the dog they “puppy-napped” from her family. Originally a childhood family pet, the dog bonded closely with Wynne and eventually made her way to Nashville. Despite her age, she still has the energy of a puppy — often pulling them on walks, loving long naps, food, and the occasional toy when the zoomies strike.

As self-proclaimed foodies, Wynne and Will love exploring the neighborhood and surrounding areas. Favorite local spots include Bar Taco, especially for happy hour and chatting with the friendly staff, and Embers, perfect for warm evenings spent outside playing games and hanging out with friends. They enjoy walking to Bi-Rite, where the stroll itself and friendly interactions with employees are part of the experience. While they love what the neighborhood currently offers, they still miss former favorites like Taqueria del Sol, Mafiaoza’s, and Portland Brew.

Weekends often include walking through 12 South, grabbing coffee, and exploring the area on foot. They also love checking out restaurants along 12th Avenue, 21st Avenue, and Belmont, and attending Predators games whenever they can — Will has been a lifelong fan and always dreamed of playing, even if skating never quite worked out.

One of their favorite neighborhood memories comes from a rare Nashville snowfall during their first winter on Cedar Lane, when neighbors gathered to sled down the hill together — some playing, others watching from their homes. Afterwards, they walked through 12 South with friends, soaking in the shared sense of community. Summer and fall evenings walking to Embers, playing card games, and spending time with friends have also become cherished routines.
Overall, Wynne and Will love the easygoing lifestyle their neighborhood offers — taking walks for coffee, traveling to visit family and friends, and exploring new destinations together, especially places with great food, fun activities, and opportunities to discover something new.
