Casper!
Herding hearts since 2014
Meet Casper, a lovable Australian Shepherd who has been part of Julie Al-Saadawi’s family for the past 12 years—and a beloved neighborhood companion along the way.
Casper’s most distinctive feature is his eyes: one brown, one light blue. His heterochromia is known in Australian Shepherds as a “ghost eye,” making his name a perfect fit for this friendly ghost.
Casper has a herding instinct—and he’s not afraid to use it on his family. Sometimes, he’ll try to gather everyone into the same room. He can even balance a stack of treats on his snout.
When he’s not showing off, Casper loves jumping for water from the garden hose, walking to Fort Willard Circle, and visiting the custard shack at The Haven for pup cups. He’s also logged some serious road-trip miles, including a family adventure to Colorado.
Casper joined the family in 2014, after their first dog passed away. Twelve years later, he’s made himself indispensable—bringing fun, companionship, and plenty of personality to a family that has called the neighborhood home for 28 years.
And Casper’s favorite place? Anywhere his family is. He simply hates being alone.
