It’s always amazing how two people can live in the same place for years and not meet each other. Sometimes it takes a little push from a friend. That’s how Ethan and Taelor found each other. “A couple different friends that we had in common each told me I HAD to talk to Taelor,” Ethan recounted. “Turns out they knew us both pretty well and we've been together over five years.”

 

Born in Tallahassee, Ethan came to Panama City when he was five years old. He returned to Tallahassee to attend Florida State University where he earned a BS in Business. After leaving the state for his first job, In 2009, Ethan returned to Panama City to start John Douglas Financial Group & John Douglas Insurance where he works as a financial advisor. Taelor was born in DeLand and has lived in Panama City since she started school. Currently, she is a Mortgage Lender at Cross Country Mortgage.

 

Since both their families are close by, Ethan and Taelor see them often. For each family birthday, the person of honor chooses a place to celebrate with the whole family. When they aren’t spending time with family, they are busy with their four dogs, Eddie, Darcy, Oscar, and Diesel. “They love walks around the neighborhood, to chase the ball, ruin the floor after Mom mops, and snuggle on the couch.” The pups also love the dog park at Frank Brown, and after they’re run ragged, Ethan and Taelor sneak in some tennis.

 

For over three years now, Taelor and Ethan have called Bay Point their home. Driving through the neighborhoods initially they were in awe of the many beautiful homes. In choosing their own home, the potential they could see was the deciding factor. Of course they love the natural beauty of the community, the people, and the golf course.

 

The Messers like to keep busy, so they are thrilled with all the activities here. “We enjoy traveling and mostly schedule our trips around live music and sporting events,” Ethan shared. This summer they’re headed to Las Vegas for a wedding, then to Delaware for a family vacation. Perhaps what they are most excited about is the trip to Dublin for the FSU football game.

 

As these relative Bay Point newbies continue to make this wonderful community their home, please welcome them warmly as only you can do!
