The Ziehe Family
A Joyful Journey Unfolds

The Ziehe family has created a home that exudes warmth, laughter, and a distinct sense of community. Their story began in 2005 when Ryan Ziehe's parents stumbled upon a rare lot during a neighborhood drive. Encouraged by his parents, Ryan seized the opportunity to build a home, setting the stage for a journey that would transform a bachelor pad into a beloved family sanctuary.
In 2008, Amanda entered the picture, bringing her own touch to the household. She fondly remembers the early days when the home featured a pool table instead of a dining table, a quirky relic of the bachelor lifestyle. With Amanda's influence, the house gradually evolved into a welcoming space for Ryan, herself, and their two energetic boys, Logan (7) and Jordan (5).
Both Logan and Jordan attend Spicewood Elementary and have become integral members of their community. The Ziehe family has deep roots in Austin, with Ryan proudly being a native who attended Canyon Vista Middle School and graduated from Westwood. Amanda, originally from Dallas, now proudly considers Austin her hometown after graduating from Lake Travis High School.
The Ziehe household is complete with their furry and scaly companions – Chalupa Batman, a 9-year-old French Bulldog, Vader, a 1.5-year-old black cat, and an ensemble of Cheeks the Hamster, fish, and Turbo the snail. Each pet holds a special place in their hearts, especially Vader, who became a permanent resident after a failed fostering attempt.
Amanda's transformation from self-proclaimed black thumb to green thumb has brought new life to the home, along with her talent for fixing broken electronics due to her background in electrical engineering. Meanwhile, Ryan enjoys sharing his musical talents with the family by playing his guitar and singing.
Professionally, Amanda is an Electrical Engineer turned Operations Manager, overseeing the production of gimbals for drones used in intelligence and surveillance missions. Ryan, a co-owner of a family development and building company, specializes in low-maintenance communities for sale and rent.
Weekends for the Ziehe family are filled with shared activities. During cooler months, they enjoy family hikes, immersing themselves in the beauty of nature. Football season sees them passionately cheering for UT, Auburn, Texas Tech, Green Bay Packers, and Cowboys, with Amanda's family being self-proclaimed Cheeseheads.
The boys, Jordan and Logan, each showcase their unique personalities. Jordan, a recent t-ball enthusiast, has a growing interest in sports and loves to help in the kitchen. Logan explores his artistic side, currently immersed in the Pokémon era, becoming a walking Pokémon encyclopedia, like every other elementary-aged kid.
As the Ziehes continue to infuse their neighborhood with their liveliness, their distinct blend of personalities and passions serves as a testament to the fact that life is better when seasoned with joy, laughter, and a whole lot of zest.
