Paige Byrne: Spirited, Joyful and FUN Art

Paige Byrne is an artist with a passion for vibrant, fun colors and whimsical compositions. Her lively personality shines through each of her pieces; her work can’t help but to make you smile.
“My colorful whimsical wallpaper pattern growing up as a child has subconsciously inspired my palette and composition for quite some time. My palette expanded through practice as an art educator and blossomed through SCAD MFA painting program. I collect colors from all seasons and patterns in nature to inspire imagery and composition. My career started with a degree in art education and I created commission work in the side,” Paige began. “Currently, I am teaching and co-own a local studio where I can produce work to sell online and locally.”
Originally from Tennessee, Paige has called Ardsley Park home since 2017. She and her husband, Geoff, have two adorable golden doodles, Mardi and Tux.
Paige’s passion for art is evident to all who meet her, as does her passion for inspiring others to find joy. With each of her students, Paige works to help them tap into their innate abilities and to see the process and product of their work as an important accomplishment.
Her own art is often inspired by her deeply rooted faith.
“When I think of the Creation of our world in the course of seven days, I get inspired by a system of seven plot points with seven lines in between. The system of seven dots and seven lines creates spaces inbetween where I envision imagery and composition... The place that entails a past and a present inspires me too. I love space and what happens there whether it’s outside or inside. I have feared painting the figure most of my career until painting James Oglethorpe. I am excited to see my progress with the figure,” explained Paige.
Recently her M.F.A. thesis exhibition “Savannah Squares: Patterns for the People” was on display.
“One of the squares Elbert Square inspired a repeat pattern design that I printed onto fabric. This opportunity created a full circle creative goal fulfilled with my love of textiles. Seeing my work beyond the canvas as a product was exhilarating,” she smiled.
In addition to being an art teacher at Scribbles Art Studio, Paige has been a guest speaker at the National Association of Art Education annual convention highlighting contemporary practice in art education. She illustrated Songbirds children’s book that was published in 2020.
