Growing Sweeter with Age: The Story of Roxy
At 19 years old, Roxy has earned every bit of her senior status, but you wouldn't know it from her fur. This ginger tabby still has the soft, baby-like coat of a young kitten, and a personality that has only grown sweeter with age. Roxy came home from the humane society when the family's children were just 6 and 7 years old. Young Caroline chose her name after her favorite surf brand clothing line, and Roxy fit right in alongside the family's male ginger, Milo. She's also a very special girl: only about 20% of all ginger cats are female.
These days, Roxy is all about her people. She'll follow her family from room to room, waiting
patiently for someone to sit down so she can claim their lap for a good long snuggle. When she isn't soaking up attention, you can find her lounging on the back of the couch in a patch of sun or enjoying an afternoon snack. She's particular about her water, too. Roxy will only drink from two drinking glasses her family keeps out just for her. This is just one of the many whimsies that make her personality oh so special and lovable. As she's gotten older, one of Roxy's ears has developed a little fold, earning her the affectionate nickname Crinkle. It's just one more thing that makes this quirky, lovable ginger girl one of a kind.
