Vivienne of Park Lane

Elegant, spunky, and always ready to play—Vivienne is Ansley Park charm on four paws.

A Longtime Ansley Home

Vivienne lives with her humans, Ken Lee and Terry Bozeman, who have called Ansley Park home since 1998. After spending 19 years on The Prado, they moved just around the corner to Park Lane, drawn—as ever—by the neighborhood’s parks, walkability, architectural diversity, and strong sense of community.

What they love most about Ansley hasn’t changed in nearly three decades: the abundance of green space, proximity to the Beltline, Piedmont Park, and the Atlanta Botanical Garden, easy access to public transportation, and the blend of high-density living and classic single-family homes. They also enjoy the ability to walk to some of Atlanta’s best dining, including Lewis Barbecue at Ansley Mall, Boqueria at Colony Square, and ÉLISE at The Woodruff Arts Center—neighborhood outings that almost always include Vivienne.

Meet Vivienne

Vivienne—affectionately known as Vivie—is a two-year-old female French Brittany Spaniel who joined the family as a puppy in April 2024. After a long search to rehome a Brittany without success, Ken and Terry turned to a respected Georgia breeder, Jackie Hutwanger of Hannahatchee Kennels in Lumpkin.

The French Brittany Spaniel, known in French as the Épagneul Breton, originates from Brittany, France, and has a long history as a sporting and hunting dog. The breed is known for its agility, intelligence, keen sense of sight and smell, and high energy level, while also being affectionate, highly trainable, and devoted family companions. Vivienne embodies all of these traits.

She is medium-sized with an athletic, compact build and a very soft, flat coat. Her roan coloring—a striking blend of black, brown, and white—gives her an elegant appearance that perfectly matches her personality.

A Name with Meaning

Vivienne’s name follows a centuries-old French canine naming tradition based on year of birth, a system that helps with pedigree tracking. Her birth year required a name beginning with the letter “V.”

To find the right fit, the family even turned to ChatGPT, requesting a list of classic French female names that would translate well for a dog. One stood out immediately. Terry had a beloved Aunt Vi, and Vivienne felt like the perfect tribute—refined yet spirited. Vivie quickly became her everyday nickname.

Neighborhood Social Butterfly

Vivie has never met a stranger. She’s often spotted greeting passersby from the front yard on Park Lane and thrives on social interaction with both people and pups. She loves playing chase or retrieve and is firmly on the Ansley Park “playdate rotation.”

One of her favorite neighborhood friends is Penny, an Australian Labradoodle belonging to Katie and Scott Amy, with whom Vivie enjoys frequent play sessions and photo-worthy moments.

Tricks, Toys & Morning Rituals

Vivienne has a standout talent: she can stand—and even walk—on her hind legs, usually out of curiosity to improve her view of whatever is happening around her.

Her toy basket is full of stuffed animals and balls, though most plush toys are quickly destroyed by her inner hunter. She keeps the empty “shells” to toss in the air. Her current favorite toy is a soccer ball covered in tags, ideal for chase and tug-of-war.

Mornings are a favorite time of day. Vivie wakes up extremely affectionate, offering hugs, cuddles, and the occasional kiss on the nose—often punctuated by a famously loud, unforgettable yawn.

Favorite Local Spots & Big Adventures

Vivienne loves daily walks to The Dell and Winn Park, regular playtime at Piedmont Park Dog Park, and stops at Highland Pet Supply. The family has also been enjoying the recent improvements to Yonah Park.

Her ultimate adventure is weekends at Lake Burton, where the family has a second home. There, Vivie roams freely, enjoys boat rides, joins her humans for lunches at Anchorage and LaPrade’s Marina—and memorably chased off a curious black bear that wandered too close to the garage.
