Sam and Eliza Othman

An Alessandro Heights couple's story of love, resilience, and real estate.

Over on Trautwein and Mission Grove Parkway, you'll see a large building donning a red Keller Williams sign. Walk in on the first floor and you'll find the KW offices of Sam and Eliza Othman. This husband and wife real estate duo takes an approach of care combined with knowledge and strategy. They not only work in the area but are also Alessandro Heights residents. The Othman Family's story unfolds as a tale of resilience, love, and the pursuit of the American Dream. Through serious illnesses, economic crashes, and career challenges, the Othmans have not only weathered the storms but emerged stronger as a united family.

At the age of 29, just recently having their second son, Eliza faced a formidable adversary—immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), a condition where the body has a low level of blood cells, preventing blood clotting. The projection from doctors; there is no cure, and you are dying. Eliza's journey was emotionally challenging, and the physical toll was evident to her family. She expressed, "Hearing the prognosis made my heart break. Not only for me but for the pain my family was going through as well". Determined not to let her illness define her, Eliza found strength in being present for her children, attending their events, and taking them to school.

For a decade, Eliza fought through various treatments, medications, and chemotherapy. The turning point came with the words, "Your ITP has gone into remission." A weight lifted. Eliza had not only survived but thrived, inspired by her family's unwavering support.

Ever since Sam was young, he was driven by dreams of being Bruce Lee. Fate would bring something even more significant to him at a karate tournament. He looked up in the stands and there he saw Eliza. "She was lovely," he reminisced. It took the help of a friend of a friend to get her phone number. A few conversations later they went on their first date.

Their love story became a pillar during Eliza's illness as well as the subsequent recession that hit in the late '90s. Bankruptcy, the threat of repossession, and representing himself in court marked their struggles, but Sam and Eliza's determination and love guided them.

Returning to basics, the Othmans rebuilt their lives, knocking on doors for four years to build a client base. Eliza's mother's support, securing an equity line of credit, was the catalyst they needed to help them financially as they regained footing. Sam reflects that these struggles forged the path to where they are today, emphasizing the strength found in having each other.

Embracing the opportunities America offered, the Othmans turned their setbacks into stepping stones. In real estate, they see each transaction not just as a business deal but as a new opportunity for both themselves and their clients. Understanding the challenges families face, they bring perspective, compassion, and empathy to every client interaction.

The Othmans share their love for their neighborhood, as well as the pride they take in their business. Their focus is solely on the client and doing things with integrity and doing them right. In their own words, "Meeting expectations is nothing but average, exceeding client expectations is good, and going above and beyond when no one is watching is great". With these words as their guiding light, we are lucky to have a couple of real estate professionals, who are not only amazing at what they do, but also our Alessandro Heights neighbors.
