Meet the Escobedo family!

Photos by Debi Spencer-Zerby Photography

Both Ben and Amanda Escobedo are Wyoming natives.  Ben was born and raised in Cheyenne, while Amanda was born in Laramie and moved to Cheyenne at age 6. They even graduated from rival high schools, Ben from Central and Amanda from East. They have two adorable children, Bennett, age 5, and Collins, age 2 (almost 3). And, of course, their family would not be complete without their Morkie, Quinn, the 11-year-old senior Yorkshire Maltese mix who rules the house from her perch on the living room sofa!

Ben and Amanda met ten years ago at Jackson’s. Amanda was working there while attending the University of Wyoming, and they happened across a chance encounter when Ben was at Jackson’s meeting, which turned out to be mutual friends.  The rest is history, and they were married on Aug. 13, 2016.

Ben owns a local dentist practice, Cheyenne Family Dentistry, in Cheyenne. He obtained his associate degree from LCCC and joined the Wyoming Air National Guard during this time.  He was deployed to Afghanistan during the fall of 2010 and returned in 2011.  Upon his return, Ben attended the University of Wyoming and obtained his bachelor’s degree in Math/Science.  He grew up in a family where his mom was a dental hygienist and, during his deployment, realized that he wanted to follow in his family’s footsteps and enter the dental profession.  So, after graduating from the University of Wyoming, Ben attended Creighton University School of Dentistry, graduating in 2019.  Ben has had the opportunity to work with Dr. Mark Rinne since graduation and was able to purchase the practice in 2022, which is now Cheyenne Family Dentistry, offering general and cosmetic dental services for your entire family.

Amanda graduated from the University of Wyoming in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She has practiced nursing in multiple fields, including postpartum, labor and delivery, and trauma/ER. After finishing a FEMA nursing assignment in Washington this past February, she decided to take some time to consider what was next for her career. She realized she had wanted to be a wedding planner since she was a little girl.  So, in April of 2022, Amanda started her own wedding planning business, Elevate Events and Design, which offers full-service wedding planning and design that allows couples to relax and focus on what is truly important on their wedding day.  And when you read her reviews, you will realize that this is her true calling! She is great!

The Escobedo family moved into The Pointe three and a half years ago. Ben had just graduated from the Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, NE.  He went through dental school as part of the WYDENT program and, being a native of Cheyenne, wanted to return to his home roots. The Pointe attracted them with its beautiful homes and landscaping, as well as the lovely cul-de-sacs.  They love their neighbors and can’t wait for their kids to go to Hobbs!

Their two children are a joy to be around!  The two siblings are best friends, and Bennett is such a protective older brother! Bennett will charm you with his endless energy and love of dinosaurs, superheroes and basketball.  He is also a big fan of the Mandalorian and Baby Yoda! Collins, on the other hand, is such a little mom.  She loves playing with her baby dolls, or you might find her having her nails painted or putting on lip gloss.  And watch out, she is especially fond of Cheetos!

We are so glad that you chose The Pointe to be your home! Welcome to the neighborhood, Ben, Amanda, Bennett and Collins!

THE ESCOBEDO’S FAVORITES:

Activities:
We love to travel as a family.  A few months ago, we had the opportunity to take a trip to Hawaii! This was amazing, but we also love to travel locally.  Any weekend we get a chance, we will hop in the car and find somewhere to go.  One of our favorites is Glendo.

Restaurants:
When local, we like to go to Uncle Charlies or the Met.   We can’t wait for Amanda’s parents to open Westby Edge Brewing.  We spend a lot of our free time helping out there. And often, during the milder weather, you will find Ben golfing at the Airport Golf Course.

Do you have any family traditions?
We love the annual Pointe pumpkin patch. Almost all of our family (parents and siblings) are local.  We will start the day with brunch at our house with the family and then head over to enjoy the pumpkin patch activities.  After this, we return home to carve our pumpkins.  It is so much fun!

What are you most grateful for:
We are most grateful for our family! We are a tight-knit family on both sides, and we love that we all live relatively close to one another!
