Dirk, Erin, and Noah Catron have lived in their beautiful home for the past year. It is actually the second home they have built in the Stone Canyon neighborhood! This home is uniquely modern with so many cool features. Erin says, "We were really going for a modern coastal feel. Our inspiration stemmed from modern homes in California and Florida."
The entrance has a travertine driveway. Inside, really high ceilings with built-in features set off each room. All of the living space and bedrooms are all on one level, with only a game room upstairs over the garage, which the family loves. Each room has a private bath, and there is also a full bath near the pool. The outdoor patio space is super fun and functional, and allows for hosting large parties without feeling cramped. In fact, it feels like you are at a resort! Erin shares, "I love the sliding glass doors that pocket into the walls to open up the space even more."
There are three kitchens in the house: main kitchen, butler's pantry kitchen, and the outdoor kitchen. The master bath has a unique horizontal shower, and a rain shower as well as a soaking tub and private deck area. With so many unique spaces, it is hard to pick a favorite. However, the family agrees it would probably be the outdoor patio or kitchen area of the family room. "Both provide great entertaining space, and we always seem to congregate around the food!"
As the Catrons were building and moving in, they were also decorating. Erin labels herself a minimalist when it comes to decorating, but they did a lot of shopping in Florida and had items shipped. Unfortunately, Howse, a favorite local place to shop, closed. They had purchased a lot of items there. Erin's advice is to "keep it simple ... but to each their own. Decorate with what you love. If it's landscaping and flowers, or art, or tabletop décor, just love your space, and do what brings you joy!"
