Faces of the Future
Meet the McCaslan sisters: Avery and Liv. Both attend Alisa Viejo Christian School. Avery is in 1st grade, and Liv is in 4th grade. We were lucky to get these two young Niguel Shores residents to take time from their busy school and after-school activities to tell us a little bit about themselves.
Avery
Do you have any favorite TV shows or movies?
I love Greenhouse Academy, Full House, and my favorite movie is Hamilton.
Do you play any sports? If so, what positions? Is there a sport you’d like to learn someday?
I play softball – 1st base and catcher, and I am starting to horseback ride.
Do you play a musical instrument? Is there an instrument you would like to learn?
I would like to learn the electric guitar.
What are your three favorite things to do?
I love to play softball, horseback riding, and play with my neighbors.
Do you have a favorite vacation? If so, tell us what you liked about it.
I love going to my aunt's barn in Colorado and riding and caring for her horses.
Have you ever met anyone famous?
I met Josh Childress at a Clipper's game.
Are there any upcoming challenges you’ll face this year?
I need to pass the swim test to start Junior Guards at Strands.

I love any and all animals!
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be a traveling veterinarian.
Liv

I love Hannah Montana and Black Widow.
Do you play any sports? If so, what positions? Is there a sport you’d like to learn someday?
I play softball - 2nd, 1st, and catcher, and I also play tennis.
Do you play a musical instrument? Is there an instrument you would like to learn?
I'd like to learn to play my Ukulele.
What are your three favorite things to do?
I love to play softball, do art, and hang out with my neighbors.
Do you have a favorite vacation? If so, tell us what you liked about it.
I went to Sun Valley, Idaho, over Christmas with my cousins and loved the snow, skiing, and mountains.
Have you ever met anyone famous?
Mike O'Brien, who has a gold medal in swimming, taught me to swim!
Are there any upcoming challenges you’ll face this year?
I want to make an All-Star softball team.

I was born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be a physicist or a physician.
