Merry Maids of Grand Rapids

Kelle Drabczyk is extremely excited to announce her new Merry Maids location on Plainfield Ave. They opened their doors on June 1st and are more than ready to serve the community's cleaning needs. Merry Maids was founded in 1979 out of Omaha, Nebraska and was acquired by ServiceMaster in 1988. Merry Maids became one of the first ‘whole house’ cleaning services, and to date, there are more than 525 franchises throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Before opening her Merry Maids franchise, Kelle pursued a career in the sales and insurance industry. Her husband has worked for 25 years for Muskegon County and is ready to transition into retirement. Their oldest son was recently married, lives in Grandville, and is an attorney for a firm based in Troy, Michigan. Kelle and Mark's other son attends GVSU and is pursuing a major in Finance & Accounting; he also resides in Grand Rapids.

In addition to our new Grand Rapids location, Kelle has owned her Muskegon location since 2018. Born and raised in Muskegon, she has a strong connection with her community and a desire to serve the families who live there. "This is what sparked my alliance with Merry Maids," says Kelle. "I believe in the value of our services and so do our customers!"

In addition to their stringent hiring standards, Merry Maids cleaning products are exclusive. Their products are pet-safe, child safe and eco-friendly. The best part is they supply all products and equipment, leaving their customers with less to worry about. Kelle emphasizes that they will use a customer's products if requested. "Our cleaning cloths and mop heads are microfiber, which is great for trapping more dust/debris and eliminating scratches. In addition, we offer a 24-hour 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you are not satisfied, neither are we. We will return and redo the job at no cost to you," says Kelle. 

Merry Maids provides free estimates as well.  "We prefer to do in-home estimates as we look forward to meeting with our clients and learning about their household needs," says Kelle. "In addition, we want to provide the best possible quote for your service, and an in-home estimate is more accurate. However, we are flexible and want to be mindful of our client’s time, and therefore will provide a quote through email and/or text if requested." 

"Our services are offered on a weekly, bi-weekly, tri-weekly or monthly basis. We offer flexible schedules and attempt to accommodate special requests." Because Michigan has so many snowbirds, Merry Maids hopes to see those customers return and choose them again for their cleaning needs. Merry Maids also offers on-call service to those who do not need recurring cleaning but may want a few cleanings per year. In addition, they service move-in/move-out clean-ups, rental properties, post-construction clean-ups, and apartments.

Leaving the corporate world and becoming the owner of Merry Maids has been one of Kelle's most rewarding decisions.  The franchisees are a close-knit community and share the same values. "Less cleaning and more family time are what we desire for our customers," adds Kelle.  "Family is the center of our core values, which is why we honor all major holidays. We want our staff to stay connected with their family. Christmas time is a special time for us, as we typically sponsor a family in need. The staff are generous and have a wonderful time getting involved."
