The spring edition of the Powisset Farm Trail Run returns to Powisset Farm in Dover on Monday, May 29th (Memorial Day), and has quickly become a favorite of runners living in Dover and beyond. Part of the Barn to Run series of farm-based trail races, the Powisset Farm Trail Run offers three races to choose from (3.1, 5.6 and 8.3 miles) and includes running the flat and grassy Meadow Loop on the grounds of the farm and then traversing the trails of Noanet Woodlands. The two longer distance races include running up and down Noanet Peak which offers a terrific view of Boston.
Matthew Davis of Dover is a 4x participant and is signed up for both Memorial Day race and the fall edition of the event which takes place on Sunday, October 19th. "It's my favorite race and a great way to enjoy what Powisset Farm and Noanet Woodlands have to offer, even if you aren't vying for a farm-fresh prize. I look forward to it every year!"
Dover residents and father-daughter team, David and Valentine Ruiz, are training together to participate in their first Powisset Farm Trail Run and are both signed up for 3.1 mile race. “Running a 5k with my daughter isn't just about the finish line, it's about the journey we take and the memories we build together. “ said David Ruiz. Valentine looked at the event as a cross-training opportunity and shared, “My dream is to become an Olympic ice-skater and my mom and coach say I need power and speed. When my dad registered for the race, I thought this run would be the way to succeed.”
