The Delaware Soccer Club

Established in 1978 by Sam Gurney and Jim Eagan, the Delaware Soccer Club (DSC) serves as the largest not-for-profit soccer club in Buffalo.

“I played Delaware Soccer growing up and my kids play now,” said Garrett Timms, DSC Board President and Stroll Delaware Park resident.

“Delaware Soccer Club is more than just soccer. It’s a community, providing a sense of belonging and affecting lives in a positive way,” added Garrett.

Soccer at DSC can be fun or competitive, or both. DSC offers both recreational and travel soccer teams to children ages 3-19, with a mission to promote the development of youth in our community through athletic competition.

More than 500 kids play at Delaware Park every Saturday morning during our Spring and Fall House sessions. In addition, there are 21 student travel teams and three adult and college-aged teams.

Each player receives a jersey and a ball, and a sense of being part of the team.

In addition to providing transportation throughout Buffalo, each year DSC awards $30,000 in scholarships, to help eliminate barriers to participation.

DSC holds cleat exchanges, food drives, and neighborhood cleanups and events to give back to the community and help those in need.

Delaware Soccer Club offers multiple camps and clinics, adult leagues, coaching education clinics and more in its continued effort to grow an inclusive and passionate soccer culture connecting Buffalo communities.

Volunteer participation is continuing to rebound since the onset of the pandemic and there is no shortage of opportunities in this community-based, non-profit organization.
