An entrepreneur is someone who owns and operates a business, often taking great risks, both financially and personally, to be successful. It takes bravery and a special type of person to be able to put themselves and their ideas out there, but Chad and Sabrina Drainer love the challenge and know how to make it work!

The Drainer family – Chad and Sabrina, along with their two adorable Shih-Tzus, Dolce, 10, and Gabby, 3 – have made Cheat Lake their home since 2017. They own and operate two local businesses here in Cheat Lake. Chad opened an Express Employment Professionals location here in 2014. His goal was to provide outstanding staffing services to the area and to help people who were seeking jobs match with businesses that were looking for the top talent around town. Chad is a local transplant to Cheat Lake, having grown up in nearby Grafton, West Virginia. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree in business management, then earned a master’s in industrial relations, both from West Virginia University.

Sabrina opened her business, an online women’s shopping experience called Sabbi Chic Boutique, in 2019. She had been working in the corporate world, but her passion for styling and helping women look and feel their best inspired her to begin her own online boutique. Women can find anything from activewear and tops and bottoms to dresses and accessories on her website. She even has an app so that shoppers can browse from their phones and earn store rewards (just go to the App Store and search “Sabbi Chic Boutique”). Sabrina is originally from Michigan and earned her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University.

The Drainers love to travel and actually met each other while they were on separate vacations in Put-In-Bay, Ohio in 2015. Chad was there attending a bachelor party for a good friend, while Sabrina was there with a group of her friends. The two hit it off and spent the next two years dating long-distance. Chad proposed while they were vacationing in the Outer Banks, and the couple were married there as well. It’s tradition for them now to spend some time there each summer. After their wedding, they journeyed through Italy and Sicily for their honeymoon before returning to settle into married life in Cheat Lake.

Chad and Sabrina both enjoy the community here in Cheat Lake and love to support other local businesses. In their downtime, they like to cook and entertain their friends and family in the area. Chad enjoys hunting and fishing, while Sabrina enjoys doing yoga and Pilates. While they both like sports, Chad is much more into following his teams: the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates, as well as the West Virginia University teams, especially WVU football. Sabrina will still sport some green and white for her Michigan State University Spartans, though!
