Keith Johnson is a lifelong resident of Greenwood. Eight years ago, Keith started a single food truck which quickly grew into a successful restaurant known as Johnson’s BBQ Shack in Bargersville. Keith adds, “I realized the need to distinguish and establish the catering separate from the restaurant. In July of 2018, I launched Smokehouse Catering Co. to provide the best event catering services in central Indiana. Later, when we knew it was time to expand our horizons as a company, we opened a dining room for all of our loyal customers.”
For the past decade, Keith has been honing his skills as a BBQ pit-master, developing rubs, sauces, and experience with smoked meats, fish, and poultry. He has a reputation for some of Indiana's finest smoked meats and BBQ.
Smokehouse Catering Co. specializes in weddings, corporate catering, and private events. Keith says, “We bring a high-quality product at reasonable prices to fit every budget that will exceed your events catering needs. Recently, we have opened a new location that offers dine-in and carry-out services. Our doors are unlocked Tuesday through Sunday serving folks the best BBQ in town! We are located at 1140 N SR-135 in Greenwood.”

Our Executive Chef Carl "Chip" Huckaby has over 25 years of experience. He has been in the kitchen since a young age, following in the footsteps of his father. He is a member of the American Culinary Federation and has been locally and nationally recognized. This December, Smokehouse’s very own Chef Chip was selected to film a pilot episode for
Eat This TV Network. He traveled to New York City, where he spent multiple hours filming
and perfecting his recipe for television. This local chef achieved his goal of getting a TV

Keith and Chip both say they love giving back to the community. They’ve hosted many catering events and food trucks for local schools such as Greenwood, Perry Meridian, Center Grove, and many more. They also help with the Midwest Food Pantry, along with providing to families in need and to first responders.
