Meet The Gibson Family

Nestled within the picturesque streets of the Bonnie Brae neighborhood, a new chapter is unfolding as we introduce you to the Gibsons, a cherished family of our close-knit community! With the impending arrival of a new baby boy in December 2023, Matt, Meredith, their spirited 3-year-old son, Dylan, and their adorable dog, Rossi, have been bringing their warmth and vitality to our charming neighborhood since they moved to Bonnie Brae in 2019.

"We loved the character and charm of the neighborhood. The big trees are so pretty and we love the proximity to Wash Park, Gaylord Street, Cherry Creek, and Downtown Denver."

Matt & Meredith Gibson were introduced by a coworker at an industry party in November 2017. They had worked for the same company for 4 years but had never met. They talked most of that evening, and the rest was history! (Fun Fact: both Matt and Meredith went to The University of Oklahoma, just not at the same time. Let's Go Sooners!)

Matt is a Controller at DJR Energy, and Meredith is now a stay-at-home mom after resigning from her role as an Oil and Gas analyst to spend more time with Nora in April 2022. Meredith is a sustainer of Junior League of Denver, and was an active member for many years.

Before Dylan was born, "Matt and I loved biking Vail pass. We ran the Aspen Valley Half Marathon together when we were dating summer 2018 and we took our Honeymoon in Paris and Nice, France in summer 2019. We love to travel. Last summer we went to Northern England for a friend’s wedding and then traveled to Ischia, Italy for several days."

At just 3 years old, Dylan Gibson is already a bundle of energy and an endless source of delight for everyone he meets. Dylan loved playing soccer for 2 and 3-year-olds this summer. Matt even had the pleasure of being Dylan's soccer coach. With a curious eye and infectious laughter, Dylan effortlessly brightens up the neighborhood. He just started 3K in August at Knight Fundamental School, where Dylan's presence is a testament to the vibrancy of youth.

As for family traditions and time spent together, Meredith said, "We love walking down to Old South Gaylord for dinner or eating at Ni Tuyo. We love going to Wash Park together as well to walk the loop and let Nora play. We have a place in Beaver Creek we go to often on the weekends and for longer occasional trips. We like to ski, hike and bike there. We enjoy the fun restaurants in the area and exploring the mountains. We typically go back to Oklahoma to see family for the holidays but after this baby imagine we will be making more traditions here in Denver. We also love taking Nora to the Zoo and science museum." The entire family loves to hike, road bike, and ski together. Meredith tries to stay active during her pregnancy with walks through the neighborhood, around Wash Park, or working out at the YMCA.

Besides being Oklahoma University Football and OKC Thunder Basketball fans, the entire Gibson family are supporters of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS). Meredith's Mother passed from AML when Meredith was in college, and her Mother now has a memorial scholarship in her name at The University of Oklahoma in the Business College for Energy Management.

As anticipation builds in the Gibson household, Bonnie Brae eagerly awaits the arrival of the newest member of their family—a baby boy expected to make his debut in December 2023. The community has rallied around the Gibsons, offering encouragement, advice, and support in preparation for the baby's arrival. This shared excitement has solidified the Gibsons' belief that Bonnie Brae isn't just a place to live, but a community that stands united in celebrating life's milestones. A huge testament to the power of connection in our community.

As we get excited about the arrival of the newest Gibson family member, let us extend our heartiest congratulations to Matt, Meredith, and Dylan. Their journey as a family will undoubtedly contribute to the rich tapestry of experiences that make Bonnie Brae a remarkable place to call home. So, the next time you stroll through our charming streets, keep an eye out for the Gibson family—you might just find yourself captivated by holiday decorations, engaged in a lively conversation, or meeting a neighbor that you haven't gotten to know before.
